Another eXg. Ersatz original. This is the very early stages of the map. Total work time up to this point 8 Hours.

This is probably about 2% Done.

I will be taking the fog out because this is going to be a pretty big map.

When I get back into town tomorrow from my Disc Golf Tournament I will post up some more screens and another video.

I know there are some people in eXg who are interested in mapping for cod4. If anybody would like to step forward and give me a hand with this map that would be great.

After working on it for another 4 hours, its still only 2% Done.

With no COD4 mapping experience how long would it take a beginner to pick up the editor? Im experienced with Doom and Quake Radiant as well as the Half life editor Hammer and Oblivion/Fallout Editor. Would I pick it up fast?

This is just a small portion, kinda like a few houses on the way out of town. There will be a big river running the map with a bigger city, some buildings you can get in, some you can't. I know I will put a trench system in the map, not sure about a tunnel.

Sab I really hope you can help me out on this. We need to get together one of these nights.

Anybody else wanna help just hit me up and we will have a dev meeting.

Thoughts for this one, make this one night and have minimal moonlight and alot of in map lighting like street lamps and such, just a thought.

Never knew you could map Ersatz :o
It looks pretty cool, but oculd use some more treez and a little bit of everything. Hehe :P
The map kinda looks like a doom or Q4 map, nothing too special :x
Add some of the grass that sticks out of the ground and what not.

pretty cool overall :)

Well you see tyrant, with cod4 mapping, that is what we like to call "eye candy" You never add to much eye candy before the map is done. This map is about 7% done right now.

yo man, my back issue has been holding me up. I slept for 9 hours today. I'm actually just waking up now. idk whats up with it... But yah I bought COD4 last night and was messing around. I look forward to helping you out... when i get a chance... ha!

Well I am going to watch the Hurricanes game tonight,

But this is what I have done with it today, I made a POW Camp, is actually come together pretty well, done the 2 roads you will see in the pics, one will lead to a field with a trench system than after the field to the town, which I have downloaded and also made some of my own WWII Era houses, the other road, is open to suggestions.

how much custom brush work can you do? Could you, if wanted... Build an entire military base out of brushes, as you would in doom, or do you "have' to use models to build everything.

Sab,

You would do everything from the ground up. Somethings are just eaiser to use the prefabs and models that come with the game.
