Ironbar, tonight I will copy some examples of the seta ui_name (name change scripts), and how to bind them to a key, and use them in game.

no color:

' = apostraphe

if thats better to tell whats quote and apostraphe^

OK Ironbar, get your thinking cap on, because here goes.

PLEASE NOTE !!! If you excessively use name change scripts, it can overload (lagg) servers, and generally get annoying, so less is more.

If you pull down your console in game, and type seta ui_name "your name", it will change your name. The scripts you want actually do that, over, and over again. Two steps.

1. Create and save separate files for each name change (ex. name1.cfg, name2.cfg, etc.)
2. Load the binds when your D3 starts (I choose an autoexec.cfg). Add +exec autoexec.cfg to your shortcut. An example would be: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DOOM 3\Doom3.exe" +exec autoexec.cfg

Here is my autoexec.cfg (copy/paste in Notepad, save in base folder). Note I use 1-9 for the binds:

Look at what the code does. Write the name, wait, slight change, write it again, wait, .... etc. It pushes the name over, then it returns. Got a headache yet ?? Hehe, if not, here's another one, with a white chasing letter:

Ho.,le.,cow!...Thx all for the color name help.Punisher !! thats insane, thank you for this. seems like you busted your but,with all that s**t.Ill get on it tomorrow.So basicly thats 3 ways to tweak my name?Ill try my best.Do i put that stuff in my EMZ base folder or the General D3 base?

Any name.cfg files and/or any autoexec.cfg files go into you base folder.

Don't forget, that with EMZ you are blocked from using name change scripts like this while the game is in progress - they only work at the end of game while the scoreboard is up (to stop people lagging the servers).

Simon as usual, your attention to details (that many miss) is exceedingly superior. I can remember many servers being loaded down by tons of scripts. GJ.

ok, put the autoexec.cfg in my servers base folder along with the white chaseing letter?make a new file basicly? i rent from Art of war central.I cant copy and past anything into my doom 3 base folder in the game thats instaled on my comp .

each time i save that stuff to my server config files and then go to restart the server all is not there any more?

Save it to BaseD3, as Name.cfg, when u enter a server open the console and type /exec name.cfg
