DOOM or Quake

I am debating on weather to get Quake 4 or DOOM 3.
Could people vote on which game they liked more, and also describe in a post why the like it, or what the good and bad is about each game. Is one or the other better?
I also like multiplayer, and wanted to know what one has a better multiplayer.

Doom3 hands down. The single player was as intense as it gets! Play it at night and turn off the lights. Shut the door to shut out all external noise and lights. Drink some mountain dew or coffee to get ur adrenaline going. Enjoy:) After one or two hours like this - your nerves may be shot. But it will be worth it.

The multiplayer - I prefer doom3 but i can see why some would prefer q4. Q4 has a larger player population. Doom3 has a limited life span remaining. I intend to enjoy whats left of it though.

me haven played quake 3 for ps2 i would say quake cause its more fast paced and when u play multiplayer things can get pretty fuking crazy!!!!!!!!!!! especially on small maps with 3 guys and some bots

quake was made so poorly that i'm going to have to say doom. i can write a 3000000000 page essay with things i think (and many would agree with) that could have/should have been changed about that game.

id say they are both equal tbh....or rather i like them both equally. Most ppl that disliked doom 3 are those who never enjoyed the days where it all began before quake 1. They cant appreciate it because its unlike quake ...but those who love it realize that its a lot like what we knew before quake was even conceived.

So i voted d3/q4 ...because q4's multiplayer is eventually going to be something great. They are mapping contest...various mods competing for a cpl spot. Which means eventually there is gonna be some sweet maps to play on and a great mod the accompany these maps.

While d3 is what it is...and will not grow to anything more. The game has been out forever and we still only have the stock maps....and some lame quake remakes.....which i feel has no place in doom.

yet when you were playing doom 3 back in the day, u used to say: "f**k this game, quake 4 is coming out, and I will unistall d3!, so f**k ya!"

what happed to that?
