Guys I will be receiving the RTM (Release to Manufacturer) version sometime within the next two weeks. RTM is the last build and what the General Public will get. I intend on installing it as my primary OS when i receive and i will give everyone input on all the game compatibilites, etc. I have been testing the beta and RC and have found that it is more stable and as, if not more, robust than XP sp2 was.

Win 7 is built on the Vista SP2 kernel. The rest is eye candy. Remember that when XP came out it took 2 service packs to get everything straight. Same thing happened in vista. It seems that Microsoft have learned there lesson and are keeping all the bugs out by keeping the vista kernel.

I am proud of microsoft on this OS, hopefully they can get their rep back with it as well.

I'll be swtiching to Win7 as soon as "emz 2" is done (yeah, I know 2012 LOL). The RC fixed the fullscreen OpenGL issues that I'd had on my laptop with the beta, so I'm happy.

3xH has been running with Win7 since beta and is very pleased.

And as for the kernel issue, I was a little suspicious that it was the case - when they released Win7 RC and Vista SP2 on the same day ;)

random thought, but on windows 7 one of the default backgrounds is the experience music project building. my company did that building. just fyi.
better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and erase all doubt.
