Yeah I remember the videos of John Carmack introducing Rage at qcon last year. Looks like ID's version of Fallout. I think it should be pretty good.

hmmm im wondering if ID is going to do what soo many developers are doing with games now. in order to get that "extra detail" they rely on models. In other words every single building wall and structure was premade in a 3d program. This sucks for level designers because your limited in your content. Vs how doom 3 you could build any design you want out of brushes. Im going to have to start getting better with 3dmax if I want to keep mapping

woah, that has me interested. Its king of like the fallout/oblivion editor where you paint the terrain. I didn't get to watch the full video, but it really looks like the devs here are aiming for user created content. Im excited to get my hands on it.

i would like to point out that id did just get purchased by zenimax. they are the company that owns bethesda. so i'm not sure how ea has any clout in this game anymore.
better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and erase all doubt.

EA is still the publisher for Rage. Activision is still the publisher for Wolfenstein. Bethesda Softworks will publish Doom 4 as the first major title following the acquistion.

ah, gotcha. didn't realize that those contracts were still valid. i figured zenimax would want to get those anulled if at all possible.
