Basically for each process or WU a client completes it gives them points (this is sort of liek a game) depending on the difficulty of the WU. We also have
this in a teams, so teams can compete to see how many points they can get. The numbers above are how how many CPUs/or WU programs, have been running,
our place, and our score. You should check it out!
It's all about US, sharing our unused CPU cycles to combine our efforts to solving medical, mathmatical equations. Proteins are linked to DNA, diseases, and in turn, cures to diseases. To see how they fold, what happens when they fold incorrectly, takes a huge amount of time, because of the number of calculations involved. BUT, when using 2 computers, the time is cut in half, if you have 30+ working on it, even though each computer only does a small part of the computing, it takes fractionaly less time. Combine our team, with all the other teams working on it, the amount of overall time needed to "Crunch the numbers", plumets. It's called distibuted computing.

We have just crossed under 2,600th place, and we are rapidly approaching th e 100K score !!!!!!!!!
At this rate, we are going to be pushing the 2,000th place VERY shortly. Keep up the good work, and remember to get anyone you can loaded up, folding for the team. Costs nothing, and we are really going after the big guys here.
Have to say I'm very impressed. Even though we don't have the server array that MPC, or some of the other big guns have, we are out of control on our folding. Just passed the 100K mark, and as typical for us, in our massive combined effort, we are now moving down to 2,500th place. I can't stress enough how hard it is, to keep moving down in the place rankings, well up, depending on how many beers you've had, hehe. We started out, just a few months ago, in around 44,000th place. The whole time we've been adding CPU's and crunching, the numbers of teams, keep increasing, which of course just makes it harder to move your ranking. We consistantly move ourselves, either daily, or every other day, in the rankings, regardless of how many teams are added. Very impressed guys/gals. Keep folding those units, getting friends, family, volunteers, and/or any of you new possible recruits, show the team you've got the commitment, and get on board. The more we have, the sooner we can get into the top 1,000, which is literally around the corner:
