Battle Field 2

Post by eXg. TrueGift »

Every time I connect to a battle field 2 server I lose connection with in the minute, I have looked online and done everything they said but still no results this includes:

Port forwarding all that ea said to, putting down firewalls antivirus and spyware protection, updating punkbuster, installing the patches re installing and still nothing.

These are the pics I got to show you:

When I login for some reason:

After 1 minute:

Please help me I really want to play this game online, just installed a few days ago, serious answers only - thanks.

Everything I've found says PB needs to be deleted (to completely refresh), ports, and/or firewall. What ports do you have forwarded ?

I never had pb until the second install which sab gave me new so :D

Made new account dont get the first error any more but still lose connection

I fowarded the following ports:

Continuous disconnections are usually due to routing issues with your connection to the game. While you will be able to connect and play online you will suffer regular disconnects unless the following ports have been opened :
UDP 27900
UDP 29900
TCP 80 - Client/Server Standard Port for GameSpy
TCP 29900
TCP 29901
TCP 29900 - Server Standard Port (29920)
UDP 27901 - Server Must be turned on in serversettings.con
UDP 27901 - Server Must be turned on in serversettings.con
UDP 27900
TCP 28910
TCP 4711
UDP 55123
UDP 55124
UDP 55125
UDP 1500-4999
UDP 16567

Quoted that from ea help section I guess.. Doesn't work

I'd bet dollars to dounts it's Punkbuster related. If you know your way around the computer then I'd just suggest installing PBsetup, and make sure it's saving to your PB sub-folder in the battlefield main directory.

Well first off, you better get reading, and there is a LOT of it:

http://www.google.com/#q=bc2+connection ... 1806fef4aa

Since you seem to feel it's NOT PB, and NOT your provider, then as a last ditch effort, you could move your computer to a DMZ port and try that. I never use DMZ because of the security issues. I have had to forward no ports on either of my firewalls to play, so I'm not sold on the "you better open all these ports or else" theory.

With the exception of any "stay alive" requests, either your game can hit the server or not. I'm not convinced that EA has done a good job on the "stay alive" myself.

Did you manually set the path for the game installation?

try this
Okay dudes, here is how I fixed that error permanently:
Create a new dummy user (lets call him bf2user) and DO NOT redirect his my documents folder. Log in as that user, start the game, retrieve all your accounts - you should get them all. Quit the game, log out as bf2user and log back in as your normal user (which has the redirected MyDocuments). Start bf2 and I betcha' you won't get the error anymore. retrieve your accounts like you did with bf2user and enjoy. For some reason it seems like bf2 needs to be jumpstarted with a "normal", non-redirected user in order to recognize the profiles. Let me know if this works. If it doesn't, I may have another way that works.

PS. if you find this unsuccessfull, Try uninstalling the game first and deleting every trace (folders and such) of bf2. Re-install the game and BEFORE starting apply the all the patches and repeat the above steps.
