Anyone here willing to help me?
Anyone here willing to help me?
Hey, i know i don't post here often, but i really need help on something.
You see, when i go to start up my computer, a black screen comes up and says: Disk Boot Failure, Insert system disk and press Enter.
Now, i got my computer 4 YEARS ago, so that disk is most likely long gone by now.
So, does anyone know how to fix this?
P.S, I posted this both on the cd\ forums and these forums, so the more answers the better.

well you will need your windows cd. If you are getting that error then, it could be a couple things:
A dead hard drive
bad ide or sata cable (depending on your configuration)
Bad Controller
Corrupt MBR (Master Boot Record)
Check your bios and make sure your hard drive is showing up. if it is then get you a windows cd and repair your installation. boot the disc and press R at the welcome screen then you will choose the number next to the partition that has the windows installation, usually 1. then run chkdsk /r which will check your hard drive for incomplete, corrupt, or bad sectors then the /r switch should repair those errors. if you can't complete the chkdsk then you might have a bad hard drive.
Hope that helps, post any results, and always remember, google is your friend.
