Am building this for my dad.

Specs:

TV: Samsung LE-37A656
Sound: Logitech Z-5500 THX

HTPC specs:

CPU: Intel® Core 2 Quad Q9400
MEM: 2x2GB kingston hyperx ddr2-800
HDD: 2x1TB WD Green Power
GPU: 2xAsus EAH3870 Magic/HTDI
MOBO: Gigabyte X48 DQ6
ROM: LG GGW-H20LRB blu-ray/hdd combo
CASE: Thermaltake DH101
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower CM 750 watt
PCI CARD: KNC ONE TV-Station DVB-C Plus
O/S: Windows Vista Ultimate

Got all the stuff in except for the tv... it's in back order *sigh*

First problem encountered:

I installed a KNC ONE Tv Station dvb-c plus.
I'm using windows vista ultimate 64bit, and using mediacenter trying to get the channels in but media center keeps saying "tuner not found".

anyone know how i can get this to work.....i'd be very grateful it's pretty annyoing. Btw my cabler is Caiway, they have a basic package which is free to cable and undecoded, we always watch this with a small topbox but the ultimate goal is to watch with the mediacenter using the tv-card. The extra packages are decoded with Irdeto2, but i dont need no module because we don't watch them/subscribed on them.

M1nd it may sounds stupid, but I think if you install drivers for the tuner card that may solve the problem. It's not a hardware problem as I'm sure your aware.

haha i did install the drivers:P dont worry. those were dummy proof.

But now i got it working using GlobeTV but i want it working with mce cuz of my dad lack of intelligence on how to use GlobeTV plus the remote doesnt support it..........*sigh*

Ok guys im resuming this project. But I will be using the mediaportal opensource mediacenter solution. its soo much better at comforting my needs for the htpc than Vista Media Center. I will still run vista x64bit on this though. When windows 7 comes out i will wait for drivers and reinstall the OS drive.
