It is a pretty simple way to do it. I would recommend making it as LONG as you can (both pieces). The longer (width of the monitor) you make each one, the more the load is spread out across the entire "lip". For leet gamers this is a good fix. For the average MORON however, it would NOT be good, as a moderate up bump could seperate the lips just enough to crash. But, we have no morons here, so get it done, and show us pics.

:)

This one looks similar, BUT it seems to have a slight V to each piece, so the gravity would jam it down tight.

well i got it hanging.....................

but.... we do have morons here, in my lg monitor there were 4 screw holes. i measured the wholes on the plate. Screwed it on and hung her up after wiring her she didnt turn on anymore...... Probably the screws were too long and fucked something up inside. Wires? Stupid LG shouldnt put wires near screwholes ever thats a pretty lame thing to do, anyways sealing it up sending it back have one year warranty left hope they cover it........

Thats stupid. Just get you 4 screws, measured appropriately (see monitor documentation, if you do not have it then go to google and type in: "YourMonitorModelNumber" filetype:pdf

and you should have your manual. Inside it should say the size of screws you need. Get a drill. drill the holes into a board, this could take up any slack you may have in the length of screws. Then post the board to the wall. For a friend. I made some wooden tracks so that i could slide the monitor in and out of its mount. If you have a wood working router then you should have no troubles. :)
