Yeah, I'm about to get the e8600 with it's 6mb cache and try to hit 4.2 or 4.3 on air. It's got a 10x multiplier vs the 9 on my e6600, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem pulling that off.
And yeah, it took me forever to make this post, I edited it about 15 times or so.

it's that g0 stepping, vs my b2 stepping. My e8600 should have no problem hitting 4.2+

2.3 lol. Keep in mind it's 4gb TOTAL, so subtract for the cpu cache, dedicated ram on soundcard, and the 1gb on the 280, and that's what's left lol.

yup. separate physical HDDs too, so if one takes a dump, I can just use the other.
