To improve your skills in quake 4.
Wacth demos:
www.own-age.com www.esreality.com
Lowering your senstivity below 5 will improve your aim please be sure if your using a lower sens that your DPI is atlease @ 800 or higher.
Config Please turn all the eye candy settings off and lower your settings to LOW. This will help with FPS (frames per second)
Use MIRC to find players to play quake 4 with. Use these channels Gamesurge and ETG (enter the game) GS #eXg-clan or ETG #eXg

best for demos. Granted, they aren't IN GAME demo's, but it's streaming, so you don't have to worry about what pak4 file goes where. Great archive, and very user friendly interface.
Also, Toxic uses the WMO which is 400 dpi, vo0 uses MS IE 3.0 which is 400 dpi.
The only ppl using razr are the people that switched from a 400 dpi microsoft mouse because they are paid to do so.

I'm sorry but i disagree with some of this. I run my g5 at 400dpi and 6/11 Windows (no accel) and 3.5 in-game sens. (This equals about 5 inches for a 180 degree turn).
One thing I've learned since I started quake4 is that slow is not always better. Toxic/Stermy/Fatal1ty they all use like 5 or less inches to do a 180 degree turn in-game. Check out TSN on-demands of WSVG finals and watch their hands as they play.
I used to try to use a really slow sense, like 8 inches for a 180, and it actually hindered my performance. It also comes down to personal preference. Some people aim better at slow sens's while others aim well at a high or medium sens.
Other than that , I definitely agree with watching demos. Watch some toxic demos. If you honestly pay attention and make note of where toxic positions himself on the map for fights, you'll definitely improve.
Just my 2 cents.

I agree on all points, though I'll admit, at 40cm/360 I'm a very low sens player, personally.
It is definitely a matter of preference. Thing is, you only need the speed for the flick shots, and it's not like you're gonna hit a flick shot that was aimed behind you anyway.

Yeah, i got my sense about 4.8 right now. It feels too much of a struggle to move the mouse a few inches to get a turn.
And.. im still unsure, so someone clear this up for me:
What is Mouse smooth?
What is mouse accel?
All in comparison with sensitivity? example(s) please.

accel was more of an issue in q3, where directinput was involved.

Movement.
How do you guys practice your movement?
In empty servers? watching demos?
How do you practice aim?
Ive heard learning movement will contribute to your aim, and using the LG alot.
Techniques?
Id like to learn to use the plasma and rocket more, as far as "spam" in an area.

q4max rail only is my preference for aim practice. I have a really good movement practice map if you'd like it, also.

Great read, and it gave me an idea about cfgs.
For the maps with no rail or not much use of rail, im going to turn my rail bind into mg.
I have two binds already for MG, but im not use to using them, infact its rare i use mg at all.

Same I am taking that write up and makeing it a base for training to get good at all 1v1 dueling. After I think I have mastered the process of getting good, and I am good, I will devise a way for people to follow in a manner to create themselves to be good.

Play the Supremacy Mod by the +SM+ SprintMaster clan with MrPsychology. This mod is SUPER fast! And should help your skills with aim, technique and dodging.
Also quite fun.
I play it CTF style from time to time with PK.
