Your welcome pun.... It kinda makes you think, huh.
New hacker type,
the Gamer hack-anyone who modifies the orginal settings of the harddrive, such as overclocking, along with anyone who modifies the cfg files to enhance gaming.....

I just wonder what it would be like if everyone played with the orginal settings and didn't tweek or modify the settings on anything. Things that make you go hmm.......

I dunno about that overclocking bit. That doesn't make much sense. I just thought hacking was anyone using a cheat that gave them the ability to win at any given moment. I remember back in the day when I was on a slow apple G3 with a dial-up and I would beat the crap out of people on dsl and cable. I guess it was the high ping hack I had back then...ahh those were the days.

When people refer to other people as hackers, they mean that they are using programs that hackers (people who do this for a living usually as a profession) can create. Hackers you see in the games are just users, not really hackers themselves. :) Cheats are completely different than hacks.

changing your config is completely different than hacking. I have changed my config so much from the original, I can post the config on my ftp 1 sec. my config ok... well, I like to set certain preferences, bit if they are allowed in multiplayer, it will let you change them. Configs are personal preference settings which enable a user to play the game at user-preference obviously, and since this is the case, it makes the average pc gamer a more versatile player than say an x-box 360 player. You should get into doom 3 commands or quake 4 commands.... you can find them all over the internet on their respective websites... set up your autoexec.cfg in your base file with whatever settings you prefer.. there are many tutorials that explain what each command does. for example look at mine. (not hacks btw, just configuration setting changes like; ex. mouse 1 = fire) my config

Note: Cfg's and or console cmd's will not be allowed in Quake 4 tourneys. Everything is done through the gui.

Just thought I would throw that out there. I was however amazed at how much you can do through the menu's in Q4max recently. GG.

this is true, so if you want to get used to tourney specs, you mind as well not change as much as I changed, but most of my changes are simple fps modifications, but since the tourney rigs are so uber hax0r l33t, they don't need all of those fps mods :)

With this 7900 GT SLi rig the only thing I've found that even dents a solid 64 fps is turning anti-aliasing all the way up.
:D

I still don't like the 'high quality' sound effects. Too distracting.
