Yeah, but here is the thing with the Crysis vid bro. Crytek has not VERIFIED that it truly is DX10 or if it is DX9 being utilized. With DX9 and some photo shop anything can look like DX10. The same thing can be said about MS Flight Simulator pictures. Even the photo showed by MS says "Artists Rendition" of something to that effect. Have you noticed that there were DX10 Vids before the DX10 cards were even mentioned? There are NO benchies for DX10, NO software to support, and NO OS that will run DX10. It seems that the 8800 i starting to look like a mighty nice paper weight, but it
does play DX9 well... Your 7900GT/GTX is more than adequate for todays games. In an SLI configuration it is bitchin, admit it. Oh and one more thing, most DX10 software will be scalable and will just have fewer shader options executed. Vista has a MUCH higher overhead than XP BTW... Just check the Aero version. Just a few pointers about DX10 and the hype that won't follow

Hehehe
Also, Vista will not allow many upgrades on the system. Buying another 8800GTX
and an X-Fi. You better be ready to shell out some dough to MS because they will not allow it unless you buy another copy. This is there way of protecting from "pirates". Oh yeah, forgot to mention that EAX will not be supported by Vista at the moment, as they are doing there own sound thing for now... Buy buy buy is the motto from the grotto!

And that is just the icing.
What will the following be for DX games if no one can afford...
$2-600 GFX board
$2-1,000 Core 2 Duo
$1-300 Compatible MoBo
$1-400 for Vista
This is adding up really quick!

I'm not trying to be pessimistic at the least, I am more in question of Microsofts logic in releasing DX10 as a Vista only platform. That is my situation here. So $500 bucks for a BASIC system that will play Crysis at 640x480. Nah. Some stuff will need to be worked out IMHO. And I always wondered why Q3 had such a loyal following other than the game, and now I know why.
