Which headphones to buy?

I need to buy some headphones. I'm looking for headphones that are good, but not too expensive. Something around $50 or so. Don't want to miss out on a frag because the headphones aren't great.

I liked my set of Altec Lansing over-the-ear because they had the nicest sound and are very loud (partial hearing loss). Well... I liked them until I tripped on the cord and pulled the right ear off, but still... they're good phones. I'll see about finding a product number for you; I know they cost 50 though.

They are priced at 49.95 thru edimensional but ive heard they can be found cheaper at other places. We have a coupon code on the cd forums for 10% off as well. I ordered mine and had them within 3 days. I swear by these and im dying for someone else to give them a shot and hear the game the way I do. It brings a whole new element to the game.

Senheisers have AMAZING audio quality and are used by pro sound engineers and djs everywhere. If it's good enough for the best ears then you know your getting the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows.

As for below, I would say that Technics are right up there as well, but their clame to fame is DURABILITY. I had some Technics headphones that survived clubs, parties, drunkeness and they kept on chuggin with amazing clarity. Watch out for "gaming" headphones or headphones with headsets built in because you usually skimp on quality for features.

only problem with alot of these headphones is that they practically crack your skull on the sides. Some of them grip your head so tightly that it isn't pleasant at all to wear them. I recommend trying them on before you buy. I had a pair of seinheisers that i rma'd cause they gave me headaches from the grip.

Eh... not to be dick but how big is that head of yours?!

My Sen's and Technics fit pretty nice and no sqeeze. Then again using them for HOURS on end will do that do you too...

Do you like headphones that cover your whole ear? Or ones that just rest on them. That kind of stuff.

I guess he should evauluate the following before commiting...

Onboard Sound/Audigy<X-Fi (This will determine what frequency his headphones will be able to utlize from the get go. If onboard buy a $20 pair. If a high end sound board, then why not spring to utlize that fidelity?

And judge is right. A closed cup will fatigue you more in the end, but not all headsets are created equal... If sound isolation is your thing then by all means spring for the closed Circumaural designs, if you play chat, and all that jazz then over the ear is just fine. (I didn't even get into ugly headphones and there are some FUGLY ones! LOL)

I have used alot of headphones, not only for gaming but 10 years of spinning music you try alot of stuff and see what works for what situation.

well my picture is in my bio, so you be the judge. And I didn't use them for hours on end. Also forgot to mention the cartilage of the ears becomes very sensitive and painful. Cheers!

I recommend headphones that cover the whole ear and have minimal impact on the ear lobe.

Nah man, I'm not into the whole hot or not thing. Anways.... just saying that if you buy small headphones and have a small head then ... viola! Tight fit. Oh well.. Buy headphones that are not circular in shape for the ears, SENSHIESERS tend to have that shape.. Best of luck

LOL. It was a joke dude. If you want to act like a meathead then do it, I just offered advice to a headphone question and approaced it with a joke.
