Yes, clearly, because....:

1. Adament is a word which is similar to adamantite, a metal commonly found WoW

2. Tyrael...Well, you win there

3. Divine Agony, saw it once in quake, dunno what that would have to do with Blizzard

4. str4fe, because you know they added strafe jumping in the warcraft, diablo and starcraft series

5. f0rge, There happen to be forges in some rpgs made by blizzard, therefore must have taken it from there

6. Snowbl!nd... I don't even know.. maybe I got snowblind in one of the snow covered areas of WoW when I came up with this.

7. Frostbite... While I was snowblind I fell in the snow and got frostbite? May also be the name of a frost talent for mages in WoW, don't remember, maybe I got it from there.

8. Apparently Blizzard games are the only way to come to the word archetype

Please  ..... you sir, fail at trolling.

contribute or gtfo
trolling? what? i just read them and they sounded like they came from blizzard games (originally i was definitely thinking d2). if you feel like you have been wronged, then it is all in your head.
It's pretty clear that you have something against WoW.. maybe all Blizzard games, dunno. Maybe a few of the names are fantasy-esque, but most of them were random aliases that I used back in fps before I really got into any rpgs. Just don't see how you can assume that they just all came from Blizzard games

By the sounds of it I misread the tone of your post and took it as a flame/troll, so I'm sorry for that. Still don't see how you managed to come to that brief conclusion, but oh well.

you're correct. i do have something against wow. as long as wow exists i will never get my diablo3. and for that reason alone do i hate wow. that and it has ruined many of my friends' lives. that isn't inherently the games fault, but they did use that game for that end. and honestly, i have played the game and really really don't enjoy it.

having said that though, i love pretty much every other blizzard game released (except for diablo1 on ps1 ... that is an abomination upon the face of the earth). i suck royally at starcraft and warcraft, but i do enjoy them and plan on getting sc2 when it releases.

did i spend long moments pouring over your list of names? nope, i just quickly read through them and gravitated towards tyrael, archetype, and the concept of a forge. definitely things that do occur in diablo2 if not most blizzard games (of course tyrael is the angel in d2 so not really appearing anywhere else except as random nods). everything else i just kinda glossed over. but of course, divine anger is a thread throughout the diablo series.

interestingly enough though, the name of the guild i have lead in guild wars since the game launched is called tyrial knights. for those who haven't played the game, tyria is the name of the content in the first guild wars. definitely a play off the name of tyrael from d2 (arenanet is made up of most of the major people working at blizzard during the development of diablo2, warcraft 2&3, and wow). so yeah, the name definitely stuck out to me.

haha, Diablo 3 is still going to come at some point. It was just this May that Blizzard purchased the domain www.diablo3.com, which used to just be a diablo fansite. Blizzard has said time and time again that it will come eventually.. my guess is we'll hear something about it next year once sc3 has been out for a few months and all the gaming conventions roll around. D2 is my favorite game of all time, so WoW hits the shelf for me as soon as that gets announced pretty well. :P

Fair enough though, I didn't intend to come off so hostile in my op.

That's the reason I started playing gw in the first place, figured with many of the same dev team it would possibly suffice as something to tide me over until diablo 3. Played it a fair bit straight from the first beta weekend, but just found the game to be too limiting, and I'd spend more time forming pvp groups/preparing for guild battles than I would actually playing the game. :s

well yeah, d3 will come out. and there has been supposed leaks that say it has been redone/redesigned about 3 times now. but my guess is that it will be an mmo and in reality, it would be the only other game that blizzard has that could rival the popularity and sales of wow. don't get me wrong, i believe that sc2 will sell amazingly well, but it definitely won't have the following that the next diablo will. but, honestly, if wow hadn't been such a huge success they probably would have gotten d3 out the door already (or at least admitted to its development and talked about features).

i used to be totally in love with gw. and for a while my guild was really good and actually quite organized. at our peak we could get a gvg team together and running in about 10 minutes. but after a while it started to take an hour to get a team that would only play one game and then be done. which is probably my biggest gripe with any mmo -- the time it takes to do anything is too great. especially pvp. but that is the nature of most mmos. thankfully arenanet did eventually put in the build saving/loading feature, but still. the first game that somehow is able to alleviate the time issue will be a huge success i think. and probably that is one of the things that helps wow -- there are so many people playing that you can find people at any time.

I quite honestly disagree that Diablo 3 will be a WoW replica, or a WoW in the diablo world of sorts. Blizzard is still riding the popularity of WoW, and has held it's own over time (hit all-time account registration record a few months ago). Blizzard knows that WoW won't be going anywhere anytime soon, a number of mmos have been labelled "wow" killer, but they all seem to phase out really quickly and players return back to WoW.

Blizzard has already said that they will continue to create wow expansions so long as the community is there. I think, the game will peak soon enough though, it will still be popular, but after this next expansion I wouldn't be surprised to see it's numbers fall maybe 6 months thereafter when players have seen all the new content and moved on to other games.

This is when I think D3 may have, at least, an announcement. But I still think they'll keep it as true to the series as possible, and not turn it mmo style. Maybe something similar to GW, where most of the game is instanced, but at a way faster pace like d2 was... GW on crack. Or something that resembles Hellgate London (a game also made by an off-shoot part of the d2 dev team), except make it good. Blizzard is one of the best developers, period, they know what they're doing, and though lots of d2 players went towards mmos like WoW, I think they know that they can still grasp an enourmous audience without making an mmo. This way they can still manage a sufficient community on WoW, for people who still want their mmo dose as well.

On the gw topic, I found earlier stages of the game were better. Beta weekends on gw were my favorite times ever playing a game, you just grabbed people and went for gvgs anytime with anyone and it was loads of fun. This continued with my guild(s) into release, until we started to really perform well. I was part of VIKI, a Korean team that peaked at rank 2 of the ladder, as well as Dopplegangers... a more infamous top 20 team (we trash talked a lot lol). And I found as we got better, more time went into planning, making sure we had all the right people, and it would just take forever prepping for games. The competitiopn was great, and I guess it was neat putting all the time into indepth strats, map drawings etc., but I still enjoyed the more mindless nature of the beta weekends, where anything goes.

In terms of WoW arenas, I find it works a lot better because of the smaller group sizes, I do 2v2's with my brother, and add in one of my good friends from school for 3's. It's just a lot quicker to set up and go.

Yikes, starting to write books here lol! :P

well the thing is, i believe that blizzard has already stated they are working on another mmo that isn't wow2. so, assuming they aren't creating a new ip (which they really haven't done in a while) it is either starcraft or diablo. and yeah, i believe that diablo probably will be an mmo that is a mix between gw and hgl.

the one catch is that the announced mmo in development is supposedly set in the future or at least current day (if i remember correctly). but, that could also follow along the diablo path because really the series is most likely going to jump a couple centuries in terms of time line for the sake of freshness.

the catch is though that blizzard has said they will continue to support and release content for wow as long as the community (ie: the cash flow) is there. and you are correct about that. but that does indicate that another mmo being put out there probably isn't very soon. unless of course blizzard has significantly beefed up their staffing or cut wow staffing. either way it is very difficult, if not neigh on impossible, to faithfully maintain two mmos.

i still contend though that until wow's popularity drops significantly d3 is likely to not be a major factor. that doesn't mean they aren't working on it right now, but i do believe it means they won't discuss it or truly announce it for a while. because really, a lot of the people that had never heard of blizzard before wow are gonna jump to trying d3 because of their time in wow. which is good, because blizzard really is that good a dev they deserve that kind of loyalty and trust. but damn it, i wanted d3 like 3 years ago. :)

Yea, I remember that announcement a while back. but...
In response to questions on the WoW boards about a recent job posting, Blizzard community rep Drysc confirmed that the company "an unannounced next-gen MMO." Anticipating the inevitable turn the thread would take, Drysc adds, "and that doesn't mean it's an expansion for World of Warcraft either."

In January, IGN reported that Blizzard (now part of the recently-formed Activision Blizzard) had plans for a new MMO and that it would not be based on WoW or anything too similar to the company's past projects.
When I read that for the first time, it kind of made me think that it couldn't be part of the Diablo series. Either way, I guess time will tell... it's going to come out at some point regardless, hopefully sooner rather than later, and we know that Blizzard will probably do a good job with the franchise.
