Btw theres used to be this linux project with a openGL and directX wrapper but project is kinda silent lately. Was / is awesome though.

vmWare is the way to go. I have migrated to vmWare from VirtualPC. I need 64bit guest operating systems & usb support. vmware costs if I remember correctly, $183. And if you take advantage of ACE you can deploy your virtual machine to a jump drive and run it off there from anywhere.
