Argh! For some reason the server hasn't been booted this morning.

Our host was having big problems yesterday, so maybe they behind schedule on things :(

If this problem persists I shall make the beta unrestricted so other people can host.

Ok. The server host has diagnosed the problem. We have some sort of linux version incompatibility going on. I may have to rebuild the linux version again tonight using a different compiler - that'll teach me to try and upgrade stuff.

Apologies for the delay.

No. I have broken linux compatibiity. I'll rebuild the linux code when i get home tonight. Should be up this evening.

Thats the disadvantage of having no control over the server - can't test s**t.

Very nice! I like what you did with the lighting, but I found one little drawback to using the new lighting. In the Edge 2 when you turn off the lights in the upper rl room, the lights don't go out. This is something some players depend on, expecially if they dont' get zerk. I really like the lighting effect, but that's a pretty significant drawback in a game. I also have to idea how hard it is on your end to make those lights go out while that effect is in place.

The lighting option is to give an FPS boost to players with lower spec machines. It can be disabled at the server (and this will be voteable) because of the effect it can have on gameplay. Beta1 has limited voting right now.

It basically removes all area lights from the map and has everything lit the same (like q4max and battle and vq4 do with their ambient options).

No. There have been no speed/physics changes. The only thing that could be off is your mouse sensitivity and FOV settings which you will need to reset in the menus.

If anyone has comments or suggestions please post them on our forum too - they could get missed here.

Is there a way to scroll through the server rankings? Or is it stationary at the top 20?
