The tournaments for this year's QuakeCon event have been announced. More information, including map names, prize money distribution, detailed format and rules, and sign-ups for both tournaments will be available very shortly on the QuakeCon website.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars:
Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars makes its tournament debut at QuakeCon 2007. 32 teams will compete in the incredible battles between Earth’s Global Defense Force (GDF) and the invading alien Strogg. Each 6-person team will battle it out in a double-elimination bracket-style tournament, with each team having the opportunity to both attack and defend. With a focus on objective and class-based gameplay, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars will test each team’s ability to combine skill, strategy, and teamwork in tournament play like never before.

QUAKE Quad-Damage Tournament:
This year brings a new twist to QuakeCon's classic 1 vs. 1 competition with the inaugural Quad Damage Tournament. Spanning all four QUAKE games, this year's champion will need to be a master of a variety of weapons, maps, and play-styles - from QUAKE’s lightening fast action and dominating rocket launcher, to the more strategic gameplay and precision weapons found in the later QUAKE games. 256 contestants will be divided into 4 man groups with each player battling the others in a set of round-robin 1 vs 1 matches. Two phases of round robin play will reduce the competition down to the top 32 players, who will then battle it out in a single-elimination, best of 3 bracket to determine who is truly the QUAKE Master.

I'd love to sign up, since I play all 4, but I've only been playing for a year and a half, so they'd mop up the floor with me.

My hardest is going to be the QW one... I'll need to get it and practice the maps when they announce it. Q3 I've never been too big on, but I can run around and shoot, and I kinda know the popular maps. Q2 and Q4 I'll be fine with though.

I've already cleared the time off with my supervisors at work, and I'll be getting paid while I'm there, and I'm staying at my sisters place which is only 8 miles away.

It's right around the corner now fellas, let's do this!

I should be able too. Not really difficult or shouldnt be getting the time off work. But Need to have the revenue to do so we will see. I do plan on it though.

i had plans to go, i saved up the costs, but dialysis is going to cut me short this year.. i wanted to go much much, sorry guys :/

Isn't this in Dallas? Dallas should have at least one dialysis center, being as big as it is, and all you need to do is give them a call ahead of time, check the availability, and check to make sure your insurance is accepted. I could've done hemo when I went to New York; I ended up not having to, but that's how they did it.

Im on a border of going and not being able to.

I was going to go, not only for Con, but for a vacation out in DFW/houston. Was going to stay at a friends place in dfw for a cut in cost of hotels.... but, seems that he might have bailed on me.

Dallas has a shitload just like every other city, I did consider contacting my social worker to get something setup but never did and ended up having plans to go to Helen Georgia this 27th-5th to be with all of my family. Bleh, would of been chugging nightly too.

I'm hoping that I can go. Ruiner dont you live north of me? Maybee I can swing by your house and pick you up and we can go by car? If we both split gas then it should be like 150 bucks a piece or somthing.

Lemme check w my sister. That's where me and my girl are staying. It's less than 5 miles from the anatole.

I'll hit u up on myspace if you're not on xfire when I find out. (Or here, of course)
