Stephen King's The Mist..WILL PISS YOU OFF *SPOILERS*

So, It came out to rent today. ZOMG WTF< ZORS HOLY s**t. So they are locked in a grocery store. The military was behind unlockin some portal to another world. These creatures came in started $#@*&# everyone up. On top of all this there's of course 1 psycho b***h that thinks she's god's vessel and knows everything. So, they eventually find out that the military was behind it. They target this one helpless guy (who only heard rumors of what the scienctists were doing with the portal). The psycho b***h got 75% of the people in the grocery store to believe her and they all started attackin him and stabbed him several times. They through him out in the mist. $#@*&# WTF?!?!?! why stephen king!?!?!?

TO TOP IT ALL OFF. The main character (Thomas Jane). Decides they need to get out of there. So he gets a couple of people together to make an attempt to see if the mist clears out turns out they run out of gas and decide to use the rest of the bullets on themselves. (early on in the movie Thomas Jane's son made his dad promise to not let the monsters get him no matter what.) So he only has 4 bullets and there's 5 of them. He decides to be the hero and shoot them and he says "i'll figure something out". HERE COMES THE FUCKED UP PART. First he pulls back the hammer on the gun and his son wakes up and looks with wide eyes at his dad annd BANG. he kills his son then it shows the car and 3 other rounds go off. He gets out of the car Screamin and crying. yellin at the mist to come and kill him. NEXT THING YOU KNOW, The $#@*&# military comes with tanks and the mist clears up. ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS WAIT NO MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AND EVERYTHIN WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE.!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!? ZOMG Stephen King is now officially the biggest b***h in my book. The movie was so $#@*&# depressing.

Aww, that ending is nothing like the actual short story. The actual ending is somewhat more hopeful, but still rather depressing. They keep driving and driving, but the mist never ends. If I remember correctly, it ends with them in a motel somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Idk, I need to read it again; it's been wayyyy too long since I have, and it's a wonderful story. Sounds like they did a pretty bad job with the movie version though.

I loved it, but yeah, if he'd waited five minutes...
I honestly thought they were all deciding to just walk out of it, until I saw the gun and realized what they had in mind.

On the bright side, at least we got to see the origin of the Cloverfield monster.

I donno, I love horror movies and I was waiting for it to turn out as a love story.... BLAH!!! but what a hell of a twist at the end! At first I thought, man... that was jacked up, but then again your sitting there like wow that has to suck big time.... I thought it was great. First horror movie I've ever seen in a long time where they got burnt in the end.

is that were the old saying comes into play? "patience is a virtue?"

My hats off to Stephen King on that one! nice twist!

your right contro..the book ending is way better than the movie...But to tell you the truth..I will not see that because I am terrified of scary movies..I just can't watch them..I get horrible nightmares..and sometimes I hear crap when I'm home alone..talk about being somewhat paranoid..so i will not see it..however..I will read scary books...and the King book is much better than the movie I'm sure...But I will never know.
