Birthday present for the lady ;)

Post by eXg. Frag///aster »

So I got myself down and dirty and got to work on a custom B-day present for the Girlfriend here. I had gotten a wine kit to make an Australian Riesling with a few different type of flavors. Then I realized we needed to place the 30 bottles of wine we were gonna make in her place.. So that gave me the idea for the Bday present. ;)

anyways.. I have uploaded a few pics from start to finish. I made this pretty much out of Red Oak.. Enjoy.

oh and btw. Next up I will be learning how to brew Beer too... :) Gotta get some of this out to The dorkiz or maybe at somepoint have a get together with all the old enough to have a beer eXg.ers and get a little crunk while getting a little game on.

:)

First things first... I just realized it's awesome how much of an alcoholic I am that has you name me specifically when it comes to some home made beer. ;) That's awesome haha.

Second, that wine rack is AMAZING! Looks factory made. You're quite the carpenter, maybe you should give up your day job. ;) How long did it take to finish?

haha I listen to Jesus for Carpentry advice. Hes my main man.. haha nah jk. I think it turned out okay.. I just made sure I did my research before putting something like that together. Wood filler for gaps, how to cut pieces.. what kinda blades, what kinda stain to get that finish.. etc etc..

I just remember you always asking for stuff sent over while you were over seas is all. Besides who isn't a beer nut here. rofl.. Seriously.. You are just the first one I thought of, right off the bat.

Having watched a few this old house episodes, and such, it got me thinking as I was pricing some of this stuff. Why can't I make my own, it would prolly turn out better than something store bought. Kinda like building a PC, just seems stupid to buy one already built, unless you don't know what you are doing, or just want to save time at a certain point because the hardware available has issues, like when Pun was getting his new one a little while back..

I definitely appreciate it.

My next project as far as furniture goes is going to be the ultimate Computer Desk. For competition gaming. :) So that will be on its way as well.
