Audigy ZS

Post by BobMarley! »

Hey I don't have a sound card, wanted to get one and this guy is selling his for $30 including shipping! I was going to save and get an X-Fi but it is too expensive.

Will the ZS actually boost my FPS for the $30?

Will the Sound Quality Justify the buy?

Will UT2004, D3, or Q4 get a Frame Boost at all?

Any info on this is great info! Be honest!

Thanks,
EXG BOB

So with the Proc onboard that SoundCard will there be a sig increase to justify spending $30? I'm just getting near the end of my PC's life cycle, have really limited funds and am trying to squeeze every last ounce of juice I can with the littlest amount of dough... Thanks CAE

Well I'm short on cash for a $100+ sound card, but not for $30...

I had heard that the ZS was a good card but wanted to hear from the clan on what they think of this card. Is it old news? Is it WAY better than onboard audio? Is it worth $30 to buy this sound card? Does it really offer more?

That's all. So money aside, is this card a good performer or not...

Hmmmmm, I can't speak to that particular card, but I remember when I had my plain jane Audigy, it was really nice. Then I kept hearing Will, and Rick screaming about how much difference the XFi's made, especially in BF2. I now have one. Basiclly just the bottom one, no break out box, no fancy beer taps or anything, and I can indeed hear a diff. Frag, who comes over alot, can at least vouch for my XFi/5H combo in D3, Q4, and maybe more. Fear not on the life cycle of your current rig, because if you DO sink the extra cash into an XFi, you can most def. move it to the NEW rig. Money well spent, can be moved to new rig, and you won't be dissapointed. Your call though, as it's YO CASH. :)

Yeah if you are limited on funds I would say do it. If you are using onboard right now it could increase the frame rate a lil expecially if you are using Open AL sound. Would take some stress off of the cpu for sure. But like pun said. If you did decide to save up more and buy the X-Fi which I can vouch for also, great sound, hi fidelity etc. You can always move it to a new system you get in the future.

Hope this helps and best regards.
