I'm building another rig out of my old mobo/proc/mem.

I'm putting the 7950 in that, and putting the 8800gt that arrives tomorrow in this one.

This is some of the mess I made in the as yet unfurnished guest room

Since it wasn't in a case, and it's a 500GB hdd, it took a long time to format outside of the airflow of my case. So I put a 120mm fan on the HDD to draw the heat off of it. It was quite hot when I thought of it, and started getting worried when that and the PSU were very hot to the touch. I also put an 80mm antec fan on the back of the PSU to draw the heat out of it (it's fanless)
So.. it looked silly, but it got the job done.

I checked them later and it worked incredibly well. They were both completely cool after having the fans on them a few mintes.

Putting a fan on a hard drive like that helps out sooooooo much. It will take a extremly hot hard drive and cool it down to a great temp.
