very brief Blue screen

reboot

reverting to old settings is the only way

WTF

Now mind you i havent installed drivers in years...

I see it was a video card driver that updated. I need your computer Specs + OS details AND what the blue screen says.

to get ur comp to stop restarting on blue screen go into your bio and uncheck the restart on faluire

C2D 6400 . 7900GT/GTO . Win XP SP3 32Bit

Never felt i needed to update drivers dont fix what aint broken imo haha

But i cant play Amnesia now gfx all screwed up

Sun, when you get a bluescreen it creates a minidump log file. the files are located at c:\windows\minidump

Install this (its for xp 32 bit, thats what you got right?): http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/ ... x86.mspx#b

Once installed go to start> all programs>Microsoft Windows SDK>WinDbg

open your dump files there and paste the output here. It will basically tell you what file it hung on.

I noticed when i looked up your drive number on the Nvida site it said for Windows Vista. I think you installed the wrong driver.

Which means if you cannot boot into safe mood or normal OS mood, your going to have to format your drive and reinstall Win Xp

sun i just realized. never trust what it pulls up for you in the automatic detect on nvidias site. Its always wrong for me, at least when it comes to the OS.

Yeah I'm not sold on the auto-detect myself either. I too, just key in what I got.
