I left school in 1961 and worked as a Game Ranger in Zimbabwe for two years but was then called up for 18 months National Service in the Rhodesian Air Force.
When I finished my National Service I went to university in South Africa to study land and mine survey. I qualified and then worked all over Africa and South America as a surveyor until I was arrested as a spy in 1969 in Zambia. Spent two years in detention until they released me in 1971 due to lack of evidence.
I arrived in the UK and became a salesman. Worked for Rothmans (cigarettes), GAF (films and cameras) then Olivetti (computers). I was then recruited by Toshiba Computers as their National Sales Manager. Spent three years with Toshiba and was then made redundant when Toshiba brought in their own sales team from overseas.
I learned how to programme, repair and maintain various computers and became self employed as a database designer and developer. I have designed and built databases for British Telecom, Rolls Royce, the NHS, Dunlop, to name a few. Now semi-retired, I take only jobs that interest me.
I like most music as long as it's got a tune. Fast or slow is not important. I drive a Subaru SVX but unfortunately the gearbox has gone and as there were only 4,000 imported into Europe and as there are less than 100 left on the road in the UK, spares are as rare as hens teeth.
Sorry guys, I have gone on a lot but I've been around a long long time (and intend to be around for a lot longer). I joined the {KAN} clan and then moved to {EWZ} where I am now in Admin together with Ina Gadda Da Vida {EWZ}, Premutos1970 {EWZ} and Oddy {EWZ} - and others
Now the important bit - I've been online gaming for just over 12 months playing Doom, ETQW, Quake and UT2004. However I run round and look busy without doing much except getting killed. If you see me coming just let me go by and wave.
First impressions are good guys, nice to see our American friends are competent in running a forum...Hehe .......
