Something neat happened, so I guess it's time for an update.

For those of you that didn't know, I got a job at a major hospital's billing center a few months ago and......

I got a promotion at work. I impressed the hell out of them for my first two months as the "billing clerk" (billing clerk=office b***h). They have now made me a payment poster, which got me an initial raise, and then I'll get another raise with my review, which will be sometime next week. I can't wait for that.

Basically now my job entails getting "lockboxes" (a group of payments sent to us by the bank), and posting them into our system. Lockboxes contain Guarantor (patient) and Insurance payments. Then I have to make sure what I did balances, and give that packet to the payment poster that is responsible for that particular hospital site. Eventually once I'm fully trained, I'll get my own databases that I'm responsible for, but right now I'm just helping everyone out trying to get the whole process of posting the payments.

Once I get my own practices, then I'll have more responsibilities like making sure the bank statements match our records, and trying to resolve any discrepancies by looking through our spreadsheets and calling the medical office and/or the bank to reconcile any problems.

Looks like working 3rd shift for a year and a half and going to school really paid off.

Now, just what am I supposed to do about the school loans?
