hey sabooya, g0dm0de mentioned to me awhile back on #exg that he uses esdf, because of the little tip on the "f" is easy to locate with fingers and also gives you more room for weapon binds on the keyboard. i switched to that and it's best imo. try it out

Ok, here is mine:

Normal WASD movement controls.

q - rl
e - cg (kinda makes sense to have best two weapons right there)
Mouse 1 - Fire
Mouse 2 (Right click) - Zoom
Mouse Scrollwheel up - plasma
Mouse Scrollwheel down - shotgun
Mouse Scrollwheel click - grenades
(The idea is to use mousewheel down for close range weapon, schrollwheel click for midrange, and schrollwheel up for long range

Mouse buttons 4 and 5 - these are right under my thumb, with 4 being closer and 5 firther, again the idea is use closer one for close range (fists) and further one for longer range - machine gun. So I have all the weapons and zoom right under my fingers.

In q4, it is similar, with the weapons substituted according to their function:
q - rl
e- rail

Mouse Scrollwheel up - nailgun
Mouse Scrollwheel down - shotgun
Mouse Scrollwheel click - grenade launcher
Mouse button 4 - lightning gun
Mouse button 5 - hyper blaster

Doom layout

Post by eXg. focus »

I use E,A,D,F, for movement. S for walk/run, shift for zoom, r for reload.

on my mouse I have left click for fire, right click for crouch, front thumb button for shotgun, rear thumb button for chaingun, middle click for rocket launcher, scroll up for previous weapon, scroll down for next weapon, g for grenades, q for flashlight, v for drop weapon.
in q4 r is rail, since theres no reload, w is nailgun, g is grenade launcher, and rear thumb button is lightning gun. The rest is same as doom3

Frag Chamber is the easiest control map. 1 Armor, 1 Rocket, and Mega all in the same area. Just play half the map...and you win...Phrantic is no control map either...When you think about...Phrantic may be smaller and easier to pick out spawns. But it's the fairest map on doom 3 besides edge2 (which is to big for tourney) so that makes phrantic the best tourney map.

WASD for movement

Mousebutton 1 - Shoot
Mousebutton 2- Jump
Mousebutton 3 - Plasma
Mousebutton 4 - Rocket
Mousebutton 5 - Chaingun
Z - Zoom
Q - Grenades
3 - Shotgun
Space - Machinegun

And most of the others are Voicebinds :)

The easyest map to control is phrantic.
