cough** Illegal,
now if they are your avi files that you made you could use my personal favorite, Nero, which you get with a burner (usually) and if not i dobt its that expensive. :D

ummm i'd be careful burning those cd's be sure to hack the data or do a virus scan on it. there could be a illegal trace on it.

yes virus scan is for sure.... now as eXg. does not condone any illegal activcity I also know that if lets say like in the olden days you rent a movie and you wanted to copy it for personal use. or to back up your copys.. there is a very good program called Clone DVD, google. that. this is what I use to bakc up my copies of DVD's its very nice software even on copyprotected dvd's it will create an clone image of your disk then burn to another.

GL and HF. as far as downloading there are a few tricks that I know of, ubt again eXg. can
t be involveld with illegal activities. :)

Send me a pm apo.

Essentially yes, nero would be a good solution.

Be aware though, that you have to Encode the video and is very CPU intensive and can take quite a while depending on system specs.

avi files can't be read on regular dvd players. You need a divx player or you have to encode the files. The regular dvd files are mpeg2 for video and mp2 for sound. You need TEMPGEnc to convert the files. http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/e_main.html

Nero Vision Express will encode divix to mpeg.

if you have the correct avi bit for Nero (i had this problem at one time, it will tell you where to get it though) then you can burn off the dvd

it will convert the avi to readable dvd data

i find that DVDShrink is a good piece of software, but doesn't always get all copy protection off, AnyDVD (made by the same people as CloneDVD) will strip most copy protection off a disc in real time

Anyway, this is all just speculation because no-one would ever pirate stuff

Wow gluteus, thanks for that insightful post to a 1/3 year old problem...look at the dates man. Also your codec information is off. It depends on settings and compression ratios of different aspects of the dvd that you choose. You can get DVD quality from a dvd rip for about 3 gig easily...just gotta know what you are doing and what can be trimmed a bit and still look good.

PS: Is that last thing some kind of self realization?
