I Need Help

Hi everyone,
I'm needing more help. The problem I'm having is I dont see any servers. in doom 3. I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it. now it says my game is up to date but thats rong. need the 1.3. so then I installed Quake 4 says same thing, and CS , BF2 and I still see no servers.
So then I reinstalled my windows xp pro still its not fixed. so if you can help me with this, I would be more than happy to donate some mony to your clan. I know I dont play on your servers that much or come in your forums much. but I will send some money to help out with this clan. Note, if you have an invalid CD Key, you cannot play online.

Do you have a router or a firewall blocking access to the internet? Also make sure your connected properly to the internet.Also could you give a bit more detailed description? When did this start? What did you install before it started. Are you clicking get servers and then nothing comes up? When you reinstalled windows, did you just do a reinstall or did you actually uninstall/reformat HD and then install a clean windows? Also make sure you don't have anything as a filter.

You could have IP or DNS set up wrong. right click your internet connection. Click properties. Click Internet Protocol(TCP/IP). then click properties. Make sure both Obtain IP and Obtain DSN automatically are checked. apply ok all teh way out.

Also try unplugging your modem and router from the wall, reseting them.

The new patches have really made everything confusing....
But this would have nothing to do with CSS or BF2, so its probably more a connection or driver issue.

finally You said it says my game is up to date but thats wrong. need the 1.3.
That would mean you are having a driver issue. I believe someone posted about how to resolve this a while ago. I am unsure how to do it, and couldn't find anything on it.

Yes it is a clean install, I did get the patch 1.3 but still doesnt let me see any servers. I can get on the internet. but not letting me see servers. this is brand new computer even went and bought new doom 3 and roe but does same thing. no servers. like a fire wall stoping me. but thats not it. no router . any info I would appreciate it. thanks Bobby

Also check any software firewalls that could be doing this. IE: windows firewall, Zone Alarm, etc.

try turning firewall off tempory just to see if you can see any servers .if so then its your fire wall needs to unblock your doom 3.dont forget to put it back on again .
who is your internet with ?.an engineer can do wonders . i lost all internet other night.i upgraded my graphics card and when i took out my nvidia drivers i took out my ethernet as well (unknown to me at the time).
so i phone ntl helpdesk who talked me through using my usb to carry on and ill haft to get onto my manufacturer to get my ethernet going again.but it works ok as it is so i wont bother.

My internet is charter and i even went as far as taking norton out and trying it. nothing changed, took windows fire wall down and nothing. I even set back up my other computer and it does same thing. I will call them today and see if they know, I hate charter there service sucks but for now it the onley one around. Bobby

www.qtracker.com Try that link.. DL it and it is a program that will allow you to actively join servers.. It will pick up all server heartbeats that even the game browser will not.

It seems like I remember an issue like this from a while back for doom3 and roe. If I remember correctly you need to completely uninstall both games and then install doom3 first and then roe then get the 1.3 patch.

yes, ok found it. PM me and I'll give you the fix. I had the same issue for a good while if you'll all recall. I have an autoexec.cfg that corrects this issue.

IT IS A DNS ISSUE WITH YOUR ISP. mine does the same thing. xfire me and I'll fix it for you.

you're ignoring me. download xfire and add me just long enough to FIX THIS FOR YOU. I'm not xfire friend whoring here. I just had to deal with the same issues for a few months. It was my internet service provider also, but THERE IS A FIX.
message me and I'll have you online in no-time flat. I'm not kidding. My job is working as tech support for a nation-wide isp (centurytel), so I'm not some noob kid trying to mess up your comp. also, nice rig. I've been looking hard at upgrading from my 4000+ to the 4800.

pretty decent setup, I'm liking it.

Anyway, download xfire, it's free. THen add farfigneugan42, then message me so I can fix this. I really can. Yes, it is your isp. But that doesn't mean I can't fix it. Also, using xfire or qtracker or any of those won't work. You'll get an error saying "waiting for client".
