Well I've been overclocking since I had a 200MHz Pentium. :O
Every action HAS a reaction. There are alot of factors when Overclocking. How well your MB will overclock, how stable your frontside bus/ RAM will be, if at all when OC'd. How underated your CPU might be (headroom), and of course the lovely issue of heat/airflow in the case. The real pain in the a$$ about OC'ing, is to do it right, you should make small steps, which takes time. Sure it'd be easier to just crank it all the way up in the first shot, but, hehe, you can get into trouble. Having a good 2 or 3 programs to benchmark after changes is critical to SEE, what you're getting. Also, just because I COULD overclock my AMD FX say 500+ MHz, I chose not to push it all the way, because at the upper end, for MY setup, mostly just got alot of heat, and not as many gains, so I left it at about stock + 70%.
