ok, call me a noob. But what is it? Why do I need it? And how do I get it?

The matter can be bought as usual, and can be used for buying Commander and Officers ingame.
With this you dont need to make several orders to get Commanders and Officers, for what you use your dark matter is your own choice.

Additionally with dark matter you aren't bound to any subscription.

The integration in other countrys will propably follow, we will inform you early enough.

Here a short overview of the most asked Questions:

1. Can i loose dark matter when im raided?
- no, dark matter is NOT raidable, as normal ressources are.

2. What happens to my active commander and officer subscriptions?
- They continue normally with the known price, and can be canceled at any time.

3. I already have a commander subscription and bought dark matter now, what happens..?
- You now have the option to use the dark matter for officers only, or you can cancel you commander subscription and buy it with dark matter too.

4. Can i give dark matter away / transport it to another player?
- No, thats not possible, dark matter appeas ingame as other ressources do, but it can't be transported in any way.

5. How long can i use the dark matter after buying it?
- Dark matter doesn't expire, the time of use is absolutely your choice.

6. For which timeperiods can i activate my officers or commanderes with dark matter?
- You can activate them for time periods starting from 1 week (much more flexibility)

7. Can you buy ressources like metal, crystal or deuterium with dark matter?
- No.

8. Do i see dark matter in spy reports?
- No.

If they took away the buying part all together and just made it another resource, maybe a set amount in the game, then you acquired officer and commander with that I would be fore the features but still paying to get an edge is lame...

So its the pay part of the game...That everyone is against. It just came up as a new resource next to deut and threw me for a loop. Thanks guys.

to add to this.
ogame commander is now put under officer.
does this mean that when sum1 says that ogame officers are hacks that the ogame commander is now considered a hack?

Hehehe, no, Commander was never, nor will it be a cheat. The key is, that except for removing the adds, and making low level building easier, you have access to everything that a NON-Commander has access to. Makes it easier for sure, so the advantage level is relative, but Commander, is seperate from the OFFICER cheats. To say they are "together" is only true in so much as you PAY for them.

i just bought 500k DM

but only for commander use

its just a new way to do it, instead of having 5 subs you now just have 1 and then fund the other 5 with it
